Becky B’s Squares: Bright Colors of Excalibur

#BrightSquare- Day 6

“As usual for a Squares Challenge month I will be sharing squares daily, and I would love it if you did the same. However if daily sounds too daunting, don’t worry. It is fine to join us weekly or even just pop in occasionally with your squares. The frequency of your squares depends on you and also your blog. All I ask is that your image has 4 equal sides, and that it reflects the theme of bright.”

Virtual Vacation to Las Vegas – #4 Resorts Galore

In February 2020 before the pandemic, we ventured back to Las Vegas. As a former pastor’s wife, Las Vegas was not somewhere I ever aspired to go, Bow I have been there, and there are lots of things to do besides sit in a casino and lose money. It’s a wonderful place to take pictures, both in and around Las Vegas.

  1. I’ve always wanted to see LV in order to photograph the odd thing and play with shutter speed and all the frenzied lights at night. Does it ever tone down a bit, late at night? Are there strange, eerie little motels in the outskirts to photograph? The city is quite a feat and now that I know about this Mob Museum Janis mentioned, I really have to go.

    1. I go to bed too early, I guess most nights. Vince had cataracts last time we went and so he couldn’t see well to drive at night. We walked around on the Strip. Next time! 🙂

  2. Nothing about Las Vegas is attractive to me. In the 1980s I was at Caesars Palace for a long weekend. I liked the hotel. I had a mini suite, the guy who checked me in thought I was cute so he upgraded me. That part I liked. Anyhow, I don’t like the desert it is way too hot. Although as a photographer, I think it would be fun to see and photograph some of the architecture though. Sorry to babble. 😀 😀

    1. Cee, you never babble. You talk if you have something to say! I never thought I would like it, but I do now, but not in the summer. It’s fine in February. It’s kind of late now to go. But some of these kooky pictures are great fun.

        1. My friend blogging friend, Carol from Australia, who was with us just told me she has a similar picture she’s going to post in Becky’s Squares. LOL. She and her husband came over from Australia just before the Pandemic and we took them there. They enjoyed it so much that they went back for a week on their own, traveled to see Grand Canyon and many of the other sights they wanted to see but didn’t have time in the few days we were there together. 🙂

    1. Hmmmm, I wonder. LOL Proof that we really did that – together. How’s my baby? Is he walking yet? I couldn’t believe him sitting there like a little man at the table. His face is changing already.

    1. Aren’t they too cool. I enhanced the color a little bit to make a jigsaw puzzle out of it. Bright colors make the puzzles easier and more fun.

  3. I knew that photo looked familiar! I have only left Australia once back in Jan 2006 & went to Hawaii, then across to LA, Las Vegas (that was where I stayed!), San Franciso & back to Hawaii before flying home. I did the trip solo and happy to do so. When I got off the plane & saw poker machines (you call them slots?) I just smiled to myself, and thought this must be Vegas! Denyse

    1. Yes, we call them slots. That was quite a trip you did by yourself. I flew to Australia from California by myself, but my blogging friend Carol met me in Brisbane. We flew to Melbourne, met another blogger, Leanne Cole, then Ballarat, then flew back to Brisbane and drove to Toowoomba. I never stayed with anyone so long in my life other than family. I should have left and traveled to Sydney on my own, but I was a chicken. So good on you, Denyse, for traveling all by yourself. WOW
