#CBWC Close-ups at the Beach
A quick swipe of a hue/saturation level in Photoshop turns a color photo into a black and white one. Cee Neuner give us an opportunity to give our close-up pictures another shot at stardom in her black and white challenge.
You can see the tracker on the back of this mama monk seal lounging on the beach at Poipu in Kauai, HI.
This Avila Beach, California beach comber looked almost as big as the monk seal. Very friendly, he and his owner allowed me to get closer than I expected.
I love all his wrinkles including those lines on his tongue.
The other Avila Beach-lover that surprised me by letting me get so close for a picture was my husband. This is one of my favorite pictures because of the little spots of light on his hand.

Hi, I'm Marsha Ingrao, a retired educator and wife of a retired realtor. My all-consuming hobby is blogging and it has changed my life. My friends live all over the world. For thirty-five years, I lived in the most beautiful area in Central Valley of California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains minutes from the Sequoia National Park. As a child I moved from Indiana to Oregon. With my first husband I moved from Oregon to Colorado to California. Every time we moved, it hurt so much to leave friends. I never wanted to move again. After Mark passed, I married again. I told Vince that I could never budge from my roots in California. He said he loved the high desert. I don't think he ever thought he would realize his dream. In November, 2020, we sold everything and retired to the mile-high desert of Prescott, AZ. We live less than five miles from the Granite Dells, four lakes and hundreds of trails with our dog, Kalev, and two cats, Moji and Nutter Butter. Vince's sister came with us and lives close by. Every day is a new adventure.

Marsha, you have some wonderful close ups for this week . Thanks so much for adding to the fun 😀
Great photos, Marsha. The close-up of the seal reminds me of many years ago when I visited the wharf in San Francisco and both watched and listened to the many seals in the water. They are so much fun!
I like the one of your husband the most.
There was a photo just like this that I had and adored. Years ago. And then the computer disk failed and I think the photo was lost with it. No matter how hard I try, I can’t get it to turn out as magical as that one.
I hate when that happens. I have photos all over the cyber world, and when I want them, it takes me a long time to find them. I try to be organized, but so far I have failed.

Thanks, Cee. They were old photos, but they made sense together. Have a great weekend. 🙂

There’s nothing like the beach, right? I will definitely miss that living in Prescott, but the mountain and rocky views here are stunning.

We even had snow last night. It was gorgeous. Cold and sunny this morning with a dusting of snow on everything.
