    1. It does! That was one of my favorite places to visit when I was a teen. Mom and I would drive to Multnomah Falls after our last class at Portland State together. Those were great memories.

        1. Tall girl! 🙂 🙂 For me it was the early 70s. After I married, my husband and I moved in 1976 to Cottage Grove, south of Eugene, then eventually to Colorado Springs and finally Central California, where I live now. My brother still lives in the Portland area, and his wife’s family lived very near the falls in Corbett. I just found a cool website about the Columbia River Gorge you might enjoy. http://columbiariverhighway.com/ Have a great weekend. 🙂

          1. Have a weekend to you! I have a favor that I ask all my friends about my blog:

            Hi my dear friend,

If you have no trouble opening my site you can ignore this message.
I messed up my site link. I made a little change and got in big trouble.
My old site (deleted, that’s why you can’t find me anymore)

My new site is The Shower of Blessings (the “s” is in different place, so is the link)
            The new link is https://theshowerofblessings.wordpress.com

You may have to click the new link and follow my new site again in order to see me show up in your Reader.

            Sorry for the trouble. Miriam

          2. Thanks, Miriam! I wondered what happened! I did that to mine once! I let my domain name lapse, and it did not even work with WordPress.com added. So I had to change it.

        1. It is for us. We’ve been living in a severe drought for several years. According to Wikipedia ” In 2015, California experienced its lowest snow pack in at least 500 years; the 2012–15 period was the driest in at least 1200 years.”

          1. Water is so important here because of agribusiness. CA is the 10th largest economy in the world, and a large part of it is agriculture. We have a series of dams, canals, ditches, and of course wells that keep the water flowing when it doesn’t rain. However during the drought our ground water fell. When we lose water from our underground aquifers, it’s gone for good. So water is a precious commodity in CA!

          2. Yes, that’s one of the many issues. The main problem is probably fertilizer. We are inland, but fertilizer causes all kinds of problems as the water carries it to the ocean.

  1. Congrats to the winners! I’ve read and enjoyed some of Debby’s books. Lovely photo of the falls.
Going to Sicily in June and very excited about it! Traveling can be stressful but enjoyable. 😃

        1. I’ve been to Rome, Florence and Venice as well as Athens on one trip when we had friends stationed over in Brindisi, Italy. It was wonderful, very hot, though. I’ll look forward to hearing more about it. 🙂
