Manny’s Hooked on Travel

“Manny, are you ready to stay home for a while?”

“No!!!  I have an idea of where I want to go to next.”

That was a dumb question.  As Carol wrote, “He’s had more excitement in the last six months than most people have in a lifetime.”

“I want to go whale watching, Mom.  I didn’t see any whales in Europe or Australia.  I didn’t even see one on the plane back to the United States.  I’ve been a lot of places, Mom, and guess what?

“What, Manny?

“No whales, that’s what.”

“That’s all you have to say about all your wonderful travels, and about the amazing people you met and things you saw?”

“Oh, Mom.  I love Carol and Glenn, AND MELISSA,  and Ute and Ralph, and I had a great time, but did you know that Justin Beaver has his own website?”

“I think you mentioned it at least one hundred times before you left.  You saw how much work he does to make that website didn’t you?  Are you sure you want to do that?  Did you tell all those people thank you for the wonderful time you had? I even saw you on Justin’s website eating chocolate, and having fun.”

“When I get all my pictures in order, I’m going to have a website and talk about all my travels. And I’m going to write books, and make a movie, and be famous like the Eternal Traveler and Justin Beaver.”

“Uh huh.  Did you say thank you to Carol and Glenn for taking you all over Europe, New Zealand, and Australia?  Did you thank Melissa for bringing you home?”

“Yeah, Mom.  I love those people.  I kissed Melissa, even.  I didn’t kiss Justin, but I shook his hand.  I gave Carol and Glenn a big hug.  But I didn’t see any whales yet.  Let’s go to Hawaii.”

Now dear bloggers, what do you think?  Is Manny spoiled?

What about now?

Hi, I'm Marsha Ingrao, a retired educator and wife of a retired realtor. My all-consuming hobby is blogging and it has changed my life. My friends live all over the world. For thirty-five years, I lived in the most beautiful area in Central Valley of California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains minutes from the Sequoia National Park. As a child I moved from Indiana to Oregon. With my first husband I moved from Oregon to Colorado to California. Every time we moved, it hurt so much to leave friends. I never wanted to move again. After Mark passed, I married again. I told Vince that I could never budge from my roots in California. He said he loved the high desert. I don't think he ever thought he would realize his dream. In November, 2020, we sold everything and retired to the mile-high desert of Prescott, AZ. We live less than five miles from the Granite Dells, four lakes and hundreds of trails with our dog, Kalev, and two cats, Moji and Nutter Butter. Vince's sister came with us and lives close by. Every day is a new adventure.

  1. Manny is the luckiest bear alive, I say. He is spoiled but I think he knows that and he is rather daring…. adn has his own ticket, what a bear! Manny you know we love you and I hope you have a great time in your seat 24 and in Hawai. I only dream of it! Send us some pictures, well put it on the blog please so we can enjoy your trip too! Much love Ute and Danny

    1. Hi Ute, Mom said I could use her phone to write back to you. I love you, Ute. It was so fun in Europe and Australia. Dad says I look unhappy in my pictures now, but I just miss everyone so much! Hope you get to come see me when I go to Venice. Ytaba kissed my bottom, and invited me to come see her. Things are different in Italy, I think. Mom said she’d think about it. Dad wants to go with me. He’s Italian. Maybe I’m related to Ytaba.

    1. Why does everybody kiss me all the time, Ralph? Dad spanks me when I’m naughty, and you kissed me when I was naughty. Ok I did lie a little. Dad hugs me when after I apologize. I’m sorry I lied. Could I have a doughnut, Ralph? I miss you. Mom is making me eat pineapples. I’d rather come to your house and eat doughnuts and sit on Fanny’s lap by the fire that had potatoes in it. Love, Manny

      1. Hi Manny,
You are welcome to come back any time as there is so much more for you to learn 😉 Be nice to Mom and Dad and you may get a doughnut from them. Love Fanny xox

        1. Ralph, are you really going to be away for two weeks? What if I need to ask you a question? I’m going to miss you. Mom is really mad at you right now for giving her a B+. I’d better get HER a doughnut. I mean she’s blowing a gasket right now. I gotta go, Ralph. Dad and I need to calm her down and get some sugar in her! 🙂 Love Manny xoxox

  2. Oh, Manny, you are a pampered little bear. But you’re so darned adorable, who could resist your applied whining? Come see me in Venice this winter, if you want. You can be buddies with Licorice, the Travelling Koala. he’d like that. 🙂 and SMAK!!! (That’s a kiss, not a pat on the bottom.)

  3. Manny, you’re more than welcome to Sweden .. plenty snow .. and father Christmas lives here too.
What an adventure you have been on. Justin Beaver or not … you have been on the coolest adventure ever.
Be careful hanging over like that …

    1. Hi Viveka, I could come to Sweden? WOW, I’ll ask Mom. Will you kiss me? Everyone loves to kiss me. I like your lip picture. My lips are brown and flat like stitches. They’re real lips though, Mom told me.

        1. That’s ok, Viveka, I’m really good at kissing. I didn’t kiss Justin Beaver, though, ’cause he’s a beaver, and bears just kiss bears and people and kitties. Oh and doggies, too.

          1. You should watch my little video that I posted yesterday .. plenty happy dogs in it. I like beavers, really hard working and family focused. They are cute too .. but I never kissed one. I like people, kittens, dogs .. and bears.

          2. I’ll ask Ute. I don’t know the names. I do better if you just hold me real tight and move me where I should go. Will that work? I’m light off my feet! 🙂 Manny xox

  4. Dear Manny

I have so much explaining to do! First of all, my name is Yvonne, please feel free to call me that!

Next, sadly, I do not live in Venice, but I go there often, for long stays, so we can see about co-ordinating your visit, OK? I live in Australia, where we have kangaroos. I know you’ve been to Australia, did you like it?

Now, very important this: I do not go around kissing anyone on the bottom! Not even Manny’s. (Well, I might, come to think of it.) What I meant was this: SMAK= a big kiss, probably on your cheeks (facial). SMAK does not mean a spank on the bottom.

Phew, one has to be careful what one says to you, Manny.

Anyhow, SMAK from me, Licorice and Minx the cat. XXX

PS I hope your friend Ralph will be OK.

    1. Hi Yvonne,
Mom and Dad are laughing right now. Did I say something wrong? I love licorice. Is your cat made of licorice? I like strawberry best. I love doughnuts. Ralph feeds me doughnuts for breakfast every day. Carol gave me lots of candy. Justin and I ate chocolates every day.

Do you dance? Ute taught me how to dance. I fall a lot. It’s fun to fall down on the ground. Don’t tell Ute. Sometimes I fell on purpose.

Ralph made the ladies put me in the dresses so I wouldn’t fall down when we danced. It was weird. Their dresses squished me. I hope Ralph is ok, too. I want to go back and see him and eat doughnuts and drink champaign. Don’t tell my mom. She can’t see me writing this. I learned how to type at Ralph’s house.

Do you have any Teddies I can play with? Please send me a picture of Licorice and Minx the cat. I love you Yvonne. xoxo Thanks for the kisses.
