In January Manny went to San Diego with the History Girls from all over California. Rumor has it that he got himself into some kind of trouble at the San Salvador. There were all kinds of displays there and the History Girls had a great time trying them out. But something happened, and Manny found himself ar the end of his rope.
Just to prove it really happened, here’s the photo – unaltered by human Photoshop.
What do you think Manny could have done to deserve THIS???
You haven’t EVER wanted to do that to your little sailor have you? Even if they asked for it?? What did your sailor do to almost get this same fate???
BTW Manny survived. ( I don’t want Bear Protective Services coming after me!)
Oh – poor Manny!!!! He looks scared 😯

He was scared. He had a rope around his neck, and he didn’t know when he was going to be dropped! He was petrified, but Leslie got him to behave! I was even scared! But then I started behaving, too! Manny and I both made it out just fine. But it was touch and go there for a minute! 🙂

I think Manny gets a little carried away with his “experience everything” motto…

Yes, he was petrified. He had seen and heard what Leslie had said to a girl the night before who was misbehaving around the human Bronze Lady statue. He didn’t know when she was going to drop him. But he promised to behave after that, and HE DID! SO did I! 🙂 Marsha 🙂

Awwww, he smiling as he reads your comment. He was scared, but he stopped misbehaving. He did ASK Leslie to tie him up, but didn’t think she would really DO it. Then he wasn’t sure she wouldn’t drop him. What we didn’t tell him was that the noose was way too loose on him. He would have slid right through it – so no Bear Abuse could be reported. 🙂 Marsha 🙂

Marsha, the picture of Manny is lovely drawn, and not only he but we were scared too seeing this…. Glad you said he was ok. My teddies knew you would not harm or let Manny suffer in any way, so did I. Manny is a very courageous bear anyway! Hands together for Manny.

He’s an adventurous little guy, and does sometimes get himself into scrapes. He practically begged Leslie to tie him up. When she did, he didn’t know what happened!!! 🙂 Manny wants to know if you want that picture or a different picture of him. That’s his only drawing so far. He might do a self portrait sometime, but I don’t know when he will have time. 🙂

Marsha, I shall copy this picture for now and hang it up and whenever you have time for another one I can add it….. thank you. Love to Manny! Self portrait would be fantastic too with no ropes….. 🙂

Justin Beaver is very concerned about Manny’s well-being. Are you sure he’s okay after that misadventure?

Read yesterday’s post. You’ll see he is back up to his old tricks, only now he clean, and smells better – not like an old sailor who’s been on board a ship for 9 months without a bath! 🙂

Justin is relieved to hear that!
