Hi everyone,

Today I spent part of my day at my sister-in-laws.  I took lots of toys, but my favorite is my new Bamboo drawing pad.  Today I drew a picture of my Cindy’s dog, Flora.  You can see her also on my header.  I was really pleased with the results of my first real pet portrait.  Cindy was so pleased she made Flora wall paper on her computer.

Then I brought her home, and played around with her some more.  V. suggested that I make her eye lower, so I tried that.  I pretty much redid her coloring and even the background.

Here is the picture I used as well.

So now I am on my conference call, so I’ll talk to you tomorrow.

  3. Hey again! Well, at least you can blame your staying at home on a Friday on your husband. I was just being lame. Just kidding! If you’d like to see my work, click either my thumbnail/avatar or my name. They both lead to my WordPress site, http://www.robiniart.com. Have a great Saturday!

    1. I did check it out, but my computer is very slow, and not everything loaded, and so I will check it when my computer is back up to speed. I love what you did with your pet pictures. My husband did, too. How clever! I’m not at that point. I’m just glad that people can recognize my pictures as: dog, human, teddy bear, etc. … 🙂

    1. I have been, amazingly, recently. I’ve been getting about 7 hours a night. Of course, I’ve had to do without internet service of any speed for the last few days, and the only way to combat that is to NOT sleep and do everything between 12:00 and 5:00 a.m., but I have chosen NOT to do that this month. Blog surfing for me is at low tide as a result. 😦 I should be back on full speed tomorrow – I HOPE!!! 🙂

      1. That’s great. 7 hour sleep is a must, I read some report regarding brain and sleep. Blogging is fun, but it can make me restless. Have fun and get some good rest, Marsha! 🙂

        1. I have slowed down a bit this month. I’m busy with many responsibilities, but I also have a new toy – my tablet. I was definitely in blogaholic territory. So I backed off, some. And when my computer’s slow, about all I can do is answer comments. I just tried to visit a site and it took so long to load, that I gave up. It never did load all the way. grrrr…

    1. Sounds like we both had the same kind of Friday night. There is nothing my husband hates more than going out on Friday night…unless maybe it is going out on Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday, Monday, oh yes, and Sunday and Saturday nights, too. Especially in the winter. He likes his warm house and his fireplace. … 🙂 Thanks for the comment, and the compliment. I’d love to see some of your work! 🙂 Marsha 🙂

    1. Thanks so much. She is a cute dog, and she’s my sister-in-law’s pride and joy. Cindy sat with me the whole time I was drawing the first picture, making comments as I drew. it was so much fun. The bunny escaped from Ralph’s website, and has proliferated on mine. I love it!!! 🙂

    1. hahaha. I didn’t do well in art at all! So poorly that my teachers felt sorry for me and gave me Cs because I’m nice!! Trust me, if I can draw, ANYONE can draw!!! 🙂 🙂 ML Glad to hear from you, BTW It’s been a while since I’ve been to your blog as well. My gigs wore out, so I asked V to buy me some more today. Now I just have to stay awake long enough to use them! 🙂

    1. Thanks, Kathy. I’m just learning. My husband gave me some helpful critiques as I reworked it the second and third time. He had me totally redoing the eyes. They were much too close together. I wouldn’t let him do it for me, though. He wanted to try, and I knew if he did it, it would be perfect. The tablet is a great toy, though. If I can use it to draw, believe me, anyone can! 🙂 ML

    1. I am right now, but I do have some things I need to get done today, and I just finished helping the Kiwanians proof their magazine after I took a walk with Sally and Linda. I find that neither I, nor most of the English speaking world around me in this area know how to use apostrophes and commas. My head is swimming, and I’m just a confused mess right now! It all looks right until someone else reads it! 🙂 ML

  17. Wow. I like that. What did you draw that with?

    1. I used the Bamboo tablet by Wacom. I love it. Marcia Meara recommended it, and so I went right out and got one. It was $99 at Best Buy, and came with a stylus, and built in software. However, I use it with Photoshop which I already had installed on my computer. I have to tell you that I have NEVER been artistic, never had an art lesson except in grade school with all the rest of the kids where I learned how to draw perspective. If you make a mistake, you can draw right over it. The only thing in getting used to it is that you can’t look at the tablet. There isn’t anything there. You look at your computer screen. So it is like learning to draw without looking at it directly – kind of like learning to type! 🙂 ML

        1. Truly, I have been scary in stick figure class all my life. This is pretty fun. You can see in my first drawing, that I don’t always see things as they are. It takes me a long time to do this!! 🙂 I learned today that I am probably dyslexic. At this age, who cares, but it explains a lot of bad writing, bad drawing, slow processing when reading. 🙂 ML
