Homewood Suites by the Sacramento, California Airport – A Great Place to Stay

While we were in Sacramento, we discovered another nice hotel that was quite inexpensive.  Normally we stay at the Hampton Inn Suites near the airport in Sacramento when we go there for meetings.  However V and I were paying for this one, so we shopped around.  I went online and got a Hilton Honors card, and looked up Hilton hotels.  The total for two nights including all the taxes was $225, which started out at about $94 a night compared to $139 for Hampton Inn.

This one, Homewood Suites, is right next door to Hampton Inn Suites.  It is about 3 miles from the airport and not much farther from downtown.  There are plenty of stores and fast food restaurants within walking distance, so it is an easy, comfortable place to stay.

We were surprised at how nice our room was.  It was equipped with a full kitchen, living room 2 tables, a king sized bed, nice sized closet, and a bathroom closed off from the sink which was tucked in right next to the closet.  I took a few pictures, but not everything since we had already slept there and messed up the bed before I remembered to do the tourist thing.

Three really nice amenities that Homewood Suites has is a free breakfast, that is really a breakfast.  They had scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles as well as fruit, assorted cereals, breads, and assorted morning breakfast drinks.  Secondly, it had free internet service that actually worked!!!1  I was so thrilled.  The problem was that I was so tired after a few days of staying up into the wee hours, that I went to bed at 9:00 or so and slept all night!  YIKES!!!  Finally it had free parking.  After going to Seattle, and San Francisco, and San Diego and fighting with the traffic and parking fees, it was a pleasure to park anywhere and do it for free.

Manny says he liked it.  The bed was comfortable and big enough for all three of us, though I do think I rolled over on him a few times.  I found him upside down under the covers once.  He burrows!!!

I’ll go back to Homewood Suites, and I’ll recommend it to my friends.  That’s all y’all.  🙂  Come to Sacramento.   We’ll take you go-cart racing!! – Or up to visit the gold country, or to the Railroad Museum, or old Sacramento.  There’s lots to do in Sacramento.  🙂

  1. That seems like a very reasonable price for such a nice looking hotel. If we come to visit I will remember it! PS the one thing Justin Beaver does not do is sleep with us. He would probably start yodelling in the middle of the night if someone rolled on him.

    1. hahaha Manny was spoiled before Kalev came to live with us. He was overjoyed when he found out that he was going and Kalev wasn’t!!! Kalev had to stay with Aunt Cindy and Florabella. She loves Aunt Cindy, but she and Flo compete big time for AC’s lap, and since Kalev is smaller, she noses out her cousin all the time. Poor Flo!!! Flo is not really a lap dog. She’d much rather play with her toys. Kalev thinks people are her toys. 🙂

        1. Kalev doesn’t even want to play with her own toys. We were afraid of that at first, but she doesn’t even pay attention to Manny. She is SO much the Princess, and Manny is lower than low. He is so far beneath her, that he is out of her radar range. Yeah!!! 🙂

  2. I will have to look it up to see how far it is from the Train Station. We are leaving for our Buddy Holly Winter Dance Party adventure in Clear Lake Iowa next Tuesday morning and we are staying in Sacramento the night before. We are leaving our car at a friends house so we would need a ride to the train station at 6:00 am.

If you want a walking partner today give me a call.

    Thanks for the info!

    1. I’m available. I didn’t call Jean yesterday, so I will call her today. If she can’t come, we could go to the golf course and take Zack maybe after school. What time do you want to walk. Want to go with me to lunch with my friend Paula today, and come back and walk, or walk before lunch?

        1. Thanks for the fun walk!! Jean says the golf guys wouldn’t know either her or Zack. They mostly go to Exeter because of the potholes in Woodlake. 🙂 I’d still go with you, though and see what we could do.

  3. So that’s where his daughters went. Five pictures from the bottom. 😉 xox
((Job))_42:15 And in all the land were no women found so ((fair)) as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

    1. My Favorite Ralph, I must be extremely dense this evening. I looked five pictures from the bottom and found an empty lobby. So are the daughters invisible? I don’t see any daughters in the lobby. I’m REALLY TRYING to be nice here, but oh the temptation…. No, Marsha, don’t say it…. Just let it go… Job’s daughters…. hmmm OH It’s SO HARD to be nice!!!! Lots of love to you, Ralph. 🙂 M, daughter of Richard Lee xox

        1. I told you I was dense yesterday, and I couldn’t see it well in the pic. I think about 5 hours later I got it! One of my former loves nick named me Semi Smart because, well you know me now. Sometimes I AM Really smart. 🙂

    1. Hahaha. Or three men (2 men one Mars-ha) in a tub, rub a dub dub. Actually Manny hates s bath as much as Kalev, so that’s out!! It was a fairly restless night for poor Manny, but V and I slept well:)

      1. Dear Marsha and Manny, I will be back, be patient please. Start practising with 1234 round 1234 other way 1234 round, and then you get into the groove…. So Manny have fun practising! 🙂
