Sunday Post: Peaceful

I thought about the ocean, but sometimes it is NOT peaceful.  I considered farm animals, but they make a LOT of noise.  Then, I looked around for something at home where I feel most peaceful.  Who should be peacefully resting in my folder, but Mama Kitty?

Mama Kitty is peaceful

Granted Kalev is NOT peaceful.  Every morning she charges out to see Mama Kitty, her body twisting and writhing with excitement.  Amazingly Mama Kitty just stands waiting for her morning kiss from Kalev.

Scardy could do anything to her without rousing her ire.  Scardy mellowed in adulthood, but as a baby….  Mama had to have the patience of a  … oh yeah – Mama.Mama Kitty is peaceful 4

Even when Kalev first came to live with use, Mama tolerated her advances.Mama Kitty is peaceful 3

Mama Kitty can even bear the burden carrying a tree on her back without getting riled.

Other animals lose their cool from time to time, even me, but Mama Kitty is ALWAYS peaceful.

I met Richard Tulloch’s Life on the Road just last week when I saw his Reflections post.  Richard writes children’s books, and travel articles so he has to be a new hero of mine, but since he is based out of Sydney and Amsterdam, I hadn’t heard of him.  From him I learned about a famous walk,  El Camino se Santiago, that my friend Leslie wants to take and invited me to join her – and any other brave souls.  I hope you’ll enjoy Richard as much as I have in the short time I’ve followed him.

Leslie's goal I just want to tag along.

  1. Thank you SO much, Marsha Lee for the pinging …. I loved that – I will return soon – I am about to do a lot of work on my Christmas Blog – The 24 Star of Christmas 🙂 Thank you

    1. I’ll look forward to it. Sorry to take so long to respond, but your reply went to my SPAM. I used to have problems with that all the time, but WP finally heard my plea and took me out of the mire. Marsha 🙂

    1. That is Scardy. He had a brother, Baby Kitty (such clever names) who died of cat leukemia. Baby was the real lover of the three. Scardy is funny. If I get up in the middle of the night, Scardy is the one who will come to me and sit on my lap and cuddle as long as I want. Then in the morning, it’s like he doesn’t know me. Kind of like an 8th grade student that doesn’t want to say hi in front of his buds. Now that Baby’s gone, he’s not so shy about cuddling in public.

    1. I almost said they are very cuddly. Kalev, the dog, lives to cuddle. She could cuddle 23.5 hours a day with just a little time to eat and go outside, although she loves to go for walks. The cats are outdoor kitties, but homebodies. However, nestling up to us isn’t one of their favorite activities. They want to be with us when we are outside. They sit by the door when we are inside, but pick them up, and they squirm. Mama will roll over to let you rub her tummy for hours, though. They are lots of entertainment.

I finished your book first thing this morning. It was excellent. How long did it take you to do the research? It had a lot of technical information. I didn’t check it, and I am NOT a scientist, so I was pretty much in the dark as far as that went. Your timing was perfect, since Mayans predicted the end of the world on Dec. 21! That made it especially captivating. I’m going to try to get a review written for my post tomorrow. 🙂

      1. I’m so glad you liked it, Marsha! The research took an awful lot of time and I can guarantee it cross-checks on everything 🙂 A review would be wonderful if you have the time 😀

The difference between cats and dogs is amazing! Most cats I’ve known only cuddle or want a pat when they’re in the mood – on the other hand, dog are always in the mood for a pat! 😀
